Nick Clawson:
Nick Clawson, born in 1983, is a multidisciplinary artist originally from San Diego, California. While studying Sculpture and Bronze casting at Grossman College in San Diego, he moved his focus toward glass. After many summers working in various positions at Pilchuck Glass School, he migrated north in 2015 to live. He currently works in various glass studios while maintaining his own glass practice.
Clawson’s work explores the experience of light in nature, and the cycles of life and death. Using found materials and handmade objects Clawson studies entropic processes necessary in creation.
He draws inspiration from science and nature, and the polychromatic nuances of the morning and night sky.
