Open Artist Studio: Seymour Stained Glass ♿
October 17 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Karen Seymour finds that working with glass allows her to give functional form to the color and light she finds in nature. You will see glass tables, lamps, mirrors, vessels and fountains. Recent pieces reflect the challenge of representing the classical 4 elements: earth, fire water and air. Karen has been teaching her glass on glass applique process for over 20 years and has written a couple of books on it. Getting a kiln in 2013 allows her to also explore kiln-forming techniques. How different temperatures can be used to create different textures is a recurring focus in her work. She currently volunteers with the Pacific Northwest Glass Guild (PNWGlassGuild.org).
