John Sharvin’s work explores the separation between the reality and the imaginary through the use of glass sculpture. His body of work ranges from imaginative miniature landscapes to cosmic travelers to enchanting animals with character to mechanical glass sculptures mimicking other materials.

Currently living in Seattle, John graduated from Ohio State University with a BFA in glass. After working in Columbus, Ohio, he relocated to Pennsylvania to work at the Pittsburgh Glass Center. He left that position in 2022 to become a full-time artist. He appeared in Netflix’s Blown Away (S3) as a contestant. His work has been exhibited across the country, including recent displays at Michigan Glass Project (Detroit, MI), Third Degree Glass Factory (St. Louis, MO) and a residency at Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, NY).
