Jeff Lindsay Diamond Shear Re-release Party at Hot Glass Color & Supply

Glassblowers, join us at Hot Glass Color & Supply for a super cool and very fun event with Jeff Lindsay. Jeff will be debuting the re-release of the very first diamond shears he ever designed and made. Jeff made and debuted his first tools in 1978 at the GAS conference in Asilomar, CA under the moniker Random Specialties. Random Specialties eventually morphed into Cutting Edge Tools. Those very first diamond shears were made with D2 tools steel, as is still true
today. The steel proved too tough to cut with a hacksaw and he had to put the whole thing on hold for a few years. Once water jet cutting became available, Jeff picked it all back up again and Random Specialties was born. The RS diamonds are recognizable by their longer blades and unique design, unlike others on the market. When Jeff and Dante collab-ed on the Dante Diamond Shears, the popularity of the RS shears waned and Jeff discontinued them. Over the years, requests for the original shears would come in and Jeff had to say no. Until now! After digging up the original drawings the shears are back. Get them while you can. Come by to hang with Jeff, ask questions, check out the new old RS shears, watch a cool demo, and generally, have a good time. You might even win the drawing for a pair of the new old RS Shears! An opportunity not to be missed. Jeff Lindsay is an artist, toolmaker, glassblower and most of all, an all-around great guy. Known primarily for his shears, he is an active member and long-time supporter of the glass community
