Drive 34 miles south from Seattle to Tacoma (approx. 36 minutes)- a hub of glassmaking with museums, galleries and artists’ studios.
Stop 1: Open Artist Studio Visit
Founded in 1994, Hilltop Artists has been supporting young artists for generations. Join us in the studio classroom at Hilltop Heritage Middle School and enjoy demonstrations from teaching artists and students. 10am-4pm. Free

Professional artist Weston Lambert will treat his guests to a collection of his finished glass and stone sculptures, while talking through his creative and technical processes. 11am-4pm. Free.

Stop 4: View Art and Watch Live Glassblowing
Visit the Museum of Glass. Watch contemporary glass history in the making as the Hot Shop Team, in collaboration with Visiting Artist Ben Cobb, demonstrates the fascinating process of creating works of art from molten glass.

Stop 5: View Art
Loving Cups: Glasses for Thought and Use. This exhibition spotlights the glass cup. Used daily and chosen deliberately, cups are among the most mundane and most personal objects we use. Loving Cups brings together contemporary glass artists from our region to interpret a deceptively simple form, offering a rare survey of the range and diversity of vision within our glass community.
