Skillcation: Learn to cut glass
In 3 hours you will make your own 5-piece coaster plus cut pieces for another to assemble at home. And you will have learned basic glass cutting skills, including how to cut curves! Stained glass appliqué uses the same tools and skills you would use to make a stained glass window but is held together with glue and grout on a glass substrate (such as a glass patio table) rather than soldered together with lead. Instruction booklet, all supplies and tool use are included in the class fee. Bring your own eye protection or wear our goggles. Limit 4 students. Please pay in advance to reserve your spot. Contact me if you want to be on the waiting list.
Special discount for Refract: $85 includes sales tax (That’s $76.89 plus tax. This class is usually $89 plus 10.55% sales tax)
Artist Bio: Karen Seymour believes being able to confidently cut curves in glass is basic to doing almost any other work with glass. She has been teaching glass appliqué for over 25 years and has published a couple of books on the technique. The student handout for this class is the text of the beginning book.
